Virginia Joyce Eagleton

Virginia Sloan Eagleton age 84 passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 surrounded by family. Virginia was born September 18, 1934 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ to her parents Fleta Marie Hendersen Sloan (1910-2002) and T.W. Sloan (1901-1982).

Virginia was raised on a farm with her sisters: Doris Davis, Vivian Oleson, and Lynn Martin on Bethany Home Road and 19th Avenue. She attended Washington Elementary and Glendale High School. Virginia Eagleton met the love of her life Richard Eagleton at the age of 14 and the two later married on January 1, 1951 and recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. The couple started their family with the birth of their daughter Brenda Eagleton Bickerdyke. Followed by another daughter Cynthia Eagleton Gentry, and two sons Richard Eagleton and Michael Eagleton.

Anyone who met Virginia loved her. She touched many hearts and always welcomed any visitor to her kitchen table. Truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; camping, bowling, and spending time with her family. Virginia also enjoyed and loved all kinds of animals especially her beloved Roxie.

She is survived by: Husband Richard Eagleton, Sister Lynn Martin, Brother-in-Law George Eagleton, Children; Brenda, Cyndi, Rick and Mike, Son-in-Law David, Daughters-in-Law Cindi and Andi, Grandchildren; Seaneen, Becky, Brandee, Raquelle, Tommy, Ryan, Ashley, Nick, Richie, and Chris, Great-Grandchildren; Spencer, Logan, David, Joshua, Chanler, Gannon, Jolene, Savannah, Beau, Tatum, Nash, Emma, Hank, Sabrina, Ethan, Madelyn, Cheyenne, Emily, Kyrabelle, Ace, Richard, Whitley, Evelyn and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family, friends and others whose lives Virginia touched are invited to the Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Mike and Andi Eagleton. For further information please email: [email protected]
