

originally of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully in the arms of her son on May 6th 2022 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Virginia was born on March 16, 1949 to Ysbel R. and Ysbel C Hernandez. Virginia graduated from Phoenix Union Highschool she married her true love Richard J. Vasquez Sr.
Virginia worked at Motorola for twenty years, then went to work for Arizona State Dept. of Economic and Security for seven years . Virginia then decided to resume her education and start a new career as a Unit Health Coordinator at St. Joseph Hospital it is from there she finally retired from the working world. Virginia truly lived her life to the fullest enjoying the simple pleasures. Virginia loved to travel to places like Hawaii. However, her heart was in Guadalajara spending time with her extended family there. Virginia always enjoyed her close circle of friends, she had an uncanny ability to connect with people in a deep and positive way.
Virginia is survived by her Children, Richard J Vasquez Jr And (Spouse) Jennifer J Vasquez , Michelle Vasquez and Genevieve Vasquez. 8 Grandchildren, Christopher Sandoval, Michael Sandoval, Seth Matrecito, Nicole Vasquez, Richard J Vasquez III, Gabriel Galaviz, Aaron Gentry, and Anissa M. Ortiz
Virginia also had 6 Great Grandchildren, Draven Sandoval, Lucus Ortiz, Amaya Ortiz, Aaron M. Gentry Jr., Alivia R. Gentry, and Alexander D Gentry. Virginia is also survived by her siblings Paul, Linda, and Dennis Hernandez; as well as several nieces, and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her Husband Richard.
A service will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn within the Serenity Chapel on Friday, May 20th. The visitation will be begin at 9:00 am, a Eulogy and Rosary at 9:40 am, and the Graveside Service at 11:00 am.
The address is 719 N. 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009. The chapel is located in the north east corner of the cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of The Valley or Banner Hospital.
The Family would like to express thanks to all the wonderful help and care from those that shared in Virginia's Final days.
