
“Bill” as he was affectionately known, was born October 13,1921 to Wretha Preston (Gates) and Emery Preston.
Bill will be remembered by his many accomplishments. He served in the US Army during World War II, and was an Educator at Whiter River Apache Indian Reservation until his retirement. He was also a practicing psychologist. Bill was a lifetime member of Gettysburg Mason Lodge #477 Greenville, Ohio serving actively for 72 years. His love for country and people showed in his willingness to help others. Bill referring to himself as “The Old Cowboy” will be missed by family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Wretha Gates, father Emery Preston. His sister Wilma and brother-in-law Frank Pastoria, sister Wonda and brother-in-law Howard (Tommy) Thompson, brother Robert Preston, and 2 nephews Donald Pastoria, Lee Thompson.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Leona (Dixie) Preston. Son Steven Preston of Flagstaff, AZ and 3 daughters, Sharon Zimmerman of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Billie Jo Preston of Phoenix, AZ, Michell and husband Larry Jones of Bellefontaine, Ohio. There are 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great granddaughters, 2 nephews Michael Thompson of Greenville, Ohio and Frank Donald Pastoria of Chehalis, Washington as well as a host of cousins.

Due to the conditions of the COVID 19 outbreak there will be no funeral services.
