I'm sure this beautiful woman made a huge impact on many lives, just as she did on ours. She was and will always be the apple of our eye. 95 years is a good long life, we wish that we could have 95 more. Wilma was number three of nine children, and the oldest daughter. She also went on to have nine children of her own. When Wilma was 54, she retired from her housekeeping job at Arizona State University after more than 25 years of service. What a life and legacy she left for her family. She could change your life and brighten your day all at the same time and was the best person to get advice from! The queen of one liners like, "Oh, you think fat meat ain't greasy!?" Another was, "Everything you need to know about life is in the Bible." The best one, "GOD always makes a way when there is no way." You could always find her sitting in her favorite chair watching "The Price is Right" or anything political on CNN, with the volume turned up to 80! There will never be another like Wilma.
Sunrise 12/19/1929 - Sunset 3/3/2025. Wilma was greeted into heaven by her two daughters, Gwendolyn Jean and Pamela Grace. She is survived by one brother, Robert Carr; and Children: Theron Watkins, James Watkins, Alice Watkins, Cathy Gaines, Mark Bagley, Barbara Finley, and Lance Finley. She also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. By the grace of GOD, she was able to visit with all of them and enjoy time with her great, great-grandchildren. Such beautiful memories they made.
A graveside service for Wilma will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery, 2300 W Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
