

Yick Fong Wong passed away peacefully on June 28, 2021 at the age of 94. He was born on July 8, 1926. He was preceded by his wife, Mei Ling Chan Wong, of thirty seven years. Both he and his wife were from Guandong, China.
He immigrated to the United States on October 22, 1958. He moved to Arizona in 1971, where he raised his family. He enjoyed building things such as an enclosing the garden to keep the birds from eating the vegetables, adding an additional room to his home and building an outdoor spit to roast duck and pork. He loved planting fruit trees, apricot, oranges, grapefruit and peaches. He supported and was active in the Wong Association and was the treasurer for many years. He read the Chinese newspaper daily and faithfully watched the Dodgers during baseball season and the Phoenix Suns during basketball season. Most of all, he enjoyed his time with his family and going to dim sum. He especially treasured the time he had with his five children, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his first wife, Yu Yan Chong who is the mother of son Dewey Wong and his wife Frances, granddaughter Kimberly Mori, her husband Kyle and great-grandchildren Abby, Connor and Alina; son Gene Wong and his wife Lisa, granddaughter Leslie and grandson Raymond; daughter Amy Wong, her husband Suen Chun Hing, grandson Alvin Suen and his wife Wing Chan; his children with Mei Ling, daughter Linda O’Grady and her husband Kevin O’Grady, grandsons Kyle and Keegan; and his son Sammy D. Wong and his wife Victoria, granddaughter Scarlett.
He is loved and will be remembered and dearly missed by his family and friends. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
