

A son of the late Waldemar and Josephine Fritzsche, Alan grew up in Camden , New Jersey.
At the age of 17, Alan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in order to serve the United States during World War II. Assigned to the Second Marine Division, he valued this service highly and attained the rank of Corporal before being discharged in 1946. He served in the Pacific, working to help establish communications as a wireman laying telephone wire to the front line on Okinawa. Later, his division was the first division to occupy Japan.
Alan is survived by his wife of 11 years: Carolyn; his sons: Joseph (Marcia) and David (Linda); grandchildren: Jennifer, Brad, Kristina (Darren) and Erik (Sarah); and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 58 years: Anna.
Anyone who knew Alan will remember his love for God and his desire to serve Him.
A celebration of Alan's life will be conducted at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. For those not able to attend, Alan's service will be livestreamed via the Church's Facebook Page.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service, at the Church.
A private burial will take place at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Church Missions Fund of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church: Attn: Keith Stewart, 830 Country Club Road, Pickens, SC 29671.
