Audrey was born on January 12, 1934 to the late James Thirl and Zilar Ellenburg. She married Joe Donnie Turner on February 4, 1955. Together they had one son.
A member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church, Audrey was a faithful servant, prayer warrior, and treasured her visits from her church friends. She retired from Alice Manufacturing (Arial Plant).
Audrey loved spending time in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for her family. She was well known for her chocolate fudge. Audrey also loved music and singing gospel/church songs. She adored babies and children and enjoyed visits from her great-great niece and nephew, Teagan and Tristan, as well as visits from Audrey Lynn who she affectionately referred to as her namesake.
Audrey is survived by one sister: Emily Ellenburg Lackey (Bill); one sister-in-law: Louise Hayes Ellenburg; two nieces: Kaye Bowick and Elizabeth Lackey; six nephews: Randall Wood, Dale Wood, Lane Wood, Dick Ellenburg, Thomas Ellenburg, and Brian Lackey; plus numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey is preceded in death by one brother: Rev. James Edward "Shadow" Ellenburg; one sister: Irene Ellenburg Wood; one brother-in-law: Charles Lewis Wood; two nieces: Linda Ellenburg Chapman and Gena Ellenburg Trask; and her only child: Gregory Joe Turner.
Thank you to Interim Hospice for your guidance and care. A very special thank you to friend and hospice nurse Paula Smith for her dedication, compassionate care, and friendship to Audrey over the last few years.

It was comforting for us to know she was well cared for and looked after during her time with you. Thank you for your kindness and commitment to Audrey and her family.
The family would like to acknowledge Auchie's great-niece, Tia LaMance for her unwavering love, support, and care in assuming Auchie's primary financial and heath care needs for the last two years. Additionally, thank you to Auchie's great-nephew, Shane Howard, for his assistance in caring for Auchie before she entered assisted living care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in the Chapel at Dillard Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:15 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service.
Flowers are welcomed or memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
