Curtis, Donnie, and all your family:
I am sorry to hear that Betty has passed.  I am glad to gave known her as a youth choir chaperone, a faithful WMU member, a choir buddy, and friend. I praise God for her. I miss her and I know you all will too. God bless and comfort you in the days to come.

If there is an example to be found of being a disciple of our Lord it was Betty. She walked daily with her Lord. She is now in His presence.

Betty was always so nice with the sweetest personality. Only saw her at our Barrett reunions, but she always had a smile on her face. She was my cousin as her daddy and my mama, Edna, were brother and sister. May God be with her family at this sad time. Linda Reeves Brinson

It was my privilege to work with Betty for many years at Cannon. She never ceased to impress me with her calm, compassionate demeanor and professionalism. Her God radiated through her in all situations.  One was blessed to know Betty Austin.. "Love the people God gives you, because one day God will want them back".   Dr. Robert King 

There is no doubt in my mind that, when the roll is called up yonder, Betty Austin will be present.  She was a wonderful dedicated nurse and co-worker at Cannon Hospital.  Her life should be celebrated and stand as an example for the rest of us to follow. Until we meet again may you rest in peace and may your spirit enjoy the comfort of your husband and grandson in the presence of Jesus. 

Worked with Betty for years at Cannon Memorial Hospital. She was a wonderful, caring nurse and a precious lady. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.  Her family and many friends will be in my prayers.  

I cannot put into words how precious Betty was to me.  She and I worked together for many years and I considered her a dear friend.  One thing is for sure, Betty loved the Lord and her church!! We talked often of the joys of Heaven and I have no doubt that she is there now reunited with Don and Barrett.   The words of a song come to mind as I imagine Betty’s entrance to Heaven, “you have run the race, you have kept the faith….welcome to Heaven my child.”

I moved to Pickens in 1978 and went to work in the operating room at Cannon Hospital with Betty. She was a great nurse, a true Christian, and a good  friend.   We just recently met in Ingles and laughed at how we have changed
