Mr. Bobby Q. Roland, 80, of Pickens, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, October 27, 2017, at his home, while surrounded by his family. Born on June 26, 1937 in Lexington County, he was the son of the late Henry and Beulah Rish Roland. He was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of his family. Before his sickness, Mr. Roland enjoyed going camping with his family. He never met a stranger and was always witnessing. He loved his Lord and Savior and wanted everyone to know that Jesus loves them. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Violet Avanell Atkins Roland and his daughter Diane Roland, both of Pickens. Along with his parents, Mr. Roland was also predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2017, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Stewart Houston and the Reverend Joey Capps officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge View Baptist Church Cemetery.
