Gene was born in Pickens South Carolina on February 22, 1927, to the late Jim and Bessie Mae Lee Hall. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Gene was a faithful member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church, were he served in many roles as Sunday School Teacher, and Deacon. He retired from Pickens County after many years of working at the Landfill. He enjoyed going trout fishing, being outside working in the garden and then giving it away to his friends and family.
Gene is survived by three sons: Terry Eugene Hall, Daniel Bruce Hall (Kathy), and Ronnie Dale Hall (Becky); one daughter: and Linda J Hovis (Fred Griffin); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife Roberta C. Hall; one daughter: Barbara Collins; one grandchild: Vicki Jaynes; and one brother: Lloyd Lee and one sister Mary Lee.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jo Ann Cater and Doris Bolding, along with Agape Hospice, for their care of Gene.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 PM
A committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Agape Hospice, 130 Thurmond Ln Ste 211, Clemson, SC 2963.
