Florence Austin

Easley, SC - Florence Austin was born on August 22, 1932 to the late William and Frances Blassingame Heard. She was the Matriarch of 5 generations. A kind and loving woman who doted on her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Florence also loved going to church and was a faithful member and mother of the church at New Foundation Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Austin is survived by two daughters: Helen Purry ( Steve) of Liberty and Susan Austin Williams (William) of Easley; one son: John Austin (Vera) of Easley; two sisters: Emily Deas and Joyce McFadden both of Columbia SC; two brothers: Thomas Heard and William (Juanita) Heard both of Atlanta, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her loving husband: Jonathan Austin Sr; one son: Jonathan Austin Jr; two daughters: Essie Craig and Veronica Austin; 5 siblings: John Churhill Heard, George Heard, Wallace Heard, Vergie Heard, and Sara Glover; one grandson: Doug Austin; one granddaughter: Cecilia Williams; one great-grandson Quinten Williams; and one great-granddaughter: Jailah Williams.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2022 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home.

Visitation will be open in the Chapel from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
