Mrs. Vaughan was born in Pickens County, SC on January 23, 1931 to the late Hubert Lander and Freddie Mae Brown Nalley. She was truly a woman with a giving personality, loving heart, and an infectious smile that would light up any room. Mrs. Vaughan loved people, and would always take time to speak with everyone she ran into while out. When you saw her, you would always find that she was "dressed to the nines" and had an eye for the fancier things in life. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she devoted her life to her family and made sure they were always taken care of. Mrs. Vaughan loved to work in her flower garden, work in her yard, decorating, and antiquing. She attended Lenhardt Christian Fellowship in Easley.
In addition to her loving husband of 73 years, Mrs. Vaughan is survived by her two children: Wanda Vincent of Columbia and Katherine Hatton of Easley; her three grandchildren: Travis Hatton of Easley, Carey Vincent (Annie) of Charleston, and Emily Johnson (Josh) of Summerville; her two great-grandchildren: Eliza Johnson and Mackenzie Vincent; and three siblings: Lee Simmons of Easley, Chupene Nalley (Carolyn) of Pickens, and Wayne Nalley (Sandra) of Pickens.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her five siblings: Bobby Nalley, Barbara Childs, Janice Gassaway, Carol Alexander, and Gale Nalley.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
