

Service Update - A committal service for Mrs. Maddox will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 22, 2017 in the churchyard of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pendleton. Casual and or comfortable dress is requested by the family. Thank you _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Six Mile – Geraldine Adelaide Cavanagh Maddox, 94, died Saturday May 27, 2017 at her home with her loving husband of 35 years Roy Maddox holding her hand. Mrs. Maddox was born in Brooklyn, New York a daughter of the late Michael Adelbert and Florence Marie Beesley Cavanagh. She was retired from the Long Island, New York School System as a secretary for several elementary schools and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Maddox was communicant of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Easley where she was very active in church life. She loved to dance, in particular square dancing and was an avid bowler. Survivors include her husband Roy J. Maddox of the home, sons Frederick J. Lanceley (Donna) of Vero Beach, FL, Michael A. Lanceley of Sandy Springs, SC, step-sons Michael G. Maddox (Quila) of Oakfuskie, OK, Larry S. Maddox (Vickie) of South Haven, MA, Leslie S. Maddox of Memphis, TN and a step daughter Linda Lee Jordan (Michael) of Memphis, TN. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and a brother Joseph Vincent Cavanagh of Monetta, SC. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Tuesday May 30, 2017 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Easley with a reception following in the church parish hall. Burial will be at a later date.
