Born on July 24, 1940, in Oak Grove, LA, Glenda was the daughter of the late Relius and Inez Phares. Glenda retired from church office administration when her husband retired from pastoring. She enjoyed bowling, dominoes and card games.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Phillip Robert "Bob" Henson; two sons, Mike Henson (Lisha) and Craig Henson (Amy); one brother, Gary Phares (Sherry); four grandchildren, Phillip Henson (Paula), Courtney Henson Jackson (Graham), Richard Henson (Becky), and Paul Henson (Monica) and five great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Glenda was also preceded in death by two brothers.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Marathon Church, 315 Roe Rd., Greenville, SC 29611. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
