Harriett "Lib" Elizabeth (Poore) Merck

Six Mile, SC – Mrs. Harriett Elizabeth “Lib” Poore Merck, age 83, widow of the late Joseph Harold Merck, passed away on January 22, 2022. She was born in Oconee County to the late Alvin Eugene Poore Sr. and Lena Maggie Bowen Poore.

She worked for many years for Schlumberger as a mechanical technician before retiring. Mrs. Merck was a member of Gap Hill Baptist Church and was always very active as long as her health would allow. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. “Lib” enjoyed her crafting which included quilts and gardening.

Surviving is a son Kenneth Ray Merck (Deborah), grandson Jason David Merck (Ashley) and granddaughter Clarissa Gayle Crenshaw all from Six Mile, South Carolina. Surviving are six great grandchildren Logan, Austin, Madison, Avery, Jordan and Brayden. Also surviving is a brother William Maurice Poore (Marlene) of West Union, South Carolina.

Mrs. Merck was predeceased by one sister Betty Jean Miller and brothers Harold James Poore, Alvin Eugene Poore Jr. and Lane E. Poore.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park 2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy Pickens, South Carolina 29671. Family will be available to visit after the graveside service.
