Easley, SC – Mrs. Janice Ruth Skelton, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 28, 2022. Mrs. Skelton was born in Greenville County, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Lewis Rochester and Louvenia Medlin Rochester and wife for 62 years to her handsome man Lawrence "Lonnie" Skelton.
Survivors in addition to her husband include a son Danny Skelton (Kim) of Purcell, Oklahoma and a daughter Rhonda Burton (Mark) of Easley, South Carolina. Surviving are six loving grandchildren: Daniel Skelton (Nancy) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Autumn Sosebee (Chris) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Joshua Starnes (Shea) of Norman, Oklahoma, Cody McClain of Pickens, South Carolina, Ryan Burton of Easley, South Carolina and Dana Cunningham of Charleston, South Carolina. Also surviving are ten most precious and loving great grandchildren. Mrs. Skelton has one surviving sister Doris Surrett and a number of nieces and nephews who loved and adored her.
Mrs. Skelton was predeceased by a sister Bobbie Lee Henderson.
Mrs. Skelton loved her Lord and her family. She wanted nothing more than to be with her grandchildren and spend time with family. That was her greatest joy. She did not meet a stranger. She loved making friends and people loved her beautiful smile. She enjoyed dancing. She was employed for a total of 38 years for Cornell Dubilier and was most often sought after for her knowledge of the job. She had many talents including advising her husband "Lonnie" what to do. Mrs. Skelton was loved by all and will be missed dearly by her family.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, South Carolina 29671 with a visitation starting at 1:00 PM at Dillard Funeral Home 2402 Gentry Memorial Hwy Pickens, South Carolina 29671. The Reverend Danny Perry will be officiating.
The family is accepting flowers. The family will be gathered at the home of Rhonda and Mark Burton.
