Joyce K. Cantrell, 79, of Easley, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2018. She is widow of the late James R. Cantrell and the Daughter of the late Homer and Leah Kelley. Born in Oconee County, Joyce grew up in a family business working in her younger years. She was a graduate of Pickens High School, former employee of Nursing Home Consultants, a member of Easley First Baptist Church.
Joyce enjoyed many things in life, but some of her favorite hobbies and pleasures came from cooking for her family and even made some meals that would bring us all from where ever we were when we heard “Soup, Salmon, and Biscuit!” Cleaning seemed like a passion that she attempted to share with her children while they were home, and even into their adult life, sharing the joy with her daughter and son in laws. She also was an advocate of supporting the economy, which included shopping, shopping, shopping, until the stores closed or she had enough samples of lipstick and face cream! Elvis and Conway Twitty’s music put a sparkle in her eye, and when played you could see the most wonderful smile, which she only had, and everyone loved to see, including her hospice care team in her final days. The most precious thing to her in life though, was her children, her unconditional love, firmness, and support she gave them is paramount to how a Mother should love her children.
Surviving are her three daughters, Teresa McGee (Husband, Allen), Kim Stephens (Husband, Eddie), and Kelly C. White, all of Easley. Her Son, Steve M. Cantrell (Wife, Kim) and Stepson James R. Cantrell, Jr. of Greenville. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great, and 3 Great, Great, Grandchildren. She also leaves one Sister behind, Margaret Godbee.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 5, 2018, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home with funeral services to follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. Entombment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
If Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Pathway Hospice of Greenville, the special team of Kathy, and Tawanna were wonderful with her care, also her sitter from Easley’s Sitter’s Registry, Shelia was a compassionate and caring person we thank as well.
