

Born on August 23, 1930, in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Anthony and Carrie Hayes Anthony Wright. She was a member of Griffin Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Simmons enjoyed gardening, completing crossword puzzles, and being a pastor’s wife.
Surviving are her two daughters, Dianne Riggs (Ted) and Sherry Holbrook (Jack); one son, Tony McJunkin (Melinda); seven grandchildren, Donna Riggs, Travis Riggs (Amy), Randall McJunkin (Kayla), Adam McJunkin (Kaley), Nathan McJunkin (BreAnna), Blake Holbrook, Clay Holbrook and Jacob Holbrook; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Riggs, Justin Riggs, Kelley Moore, Taylor McJunkin, Andy McJunkin and Colt McJunkin and one great great-grandson, Jackson Elliott.
The family will receive friends on Sunday July 29, 2018, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday July 30, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Baptist Church with the Reverend Mark Bernshausen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of the daughter Dianne Riggs.
