I met LC through Jewell in late 60’s. Jewell  became my best friend and I still grieve the loss of her presence. LC and I remained friends but drifted apart in last 5 years or so, and I had not been in touch. I was shocked and saddened when I learned he had passed away. It brings to reality that saying that you can go years without contacting a friend and pick up as if the years between didn’t exist. This isn’t true because it may be too late as it is now. I’m so sorry and I miss both Jewell and LC’s grounded, down to earth wisdom and humor. I wish I had taken the opportunity to tell him that one more time. Death changes nothing.I still miss the sound of your voice,the wisdom in your advice,the stories you shared.So no time changes nothing.I miss you just as much today as I did the day we laid you to  eternal rest .I just miss you

I loved you like there was no tomorrow ....And then one day there wasn’t 

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.Some people stay for awhile,and give us a deeper understanding of what is truly important in this life.They touch our souls.We gain strength from the footprints they have left on our hearts and we will never be the same.I miss everything about you your smile,your talks,your love,your touch,your hugs and soft kisses.I feel your present and on the night you died I was there by your side and I know it was you that woke me up when you left earth and got to meet Jesus.Your finally home just like you told me in your end days " I'm going home" .I love and miss you Luke and hope to see you again in the afterlife.Your partner till the end..Love doesn't died just because your not here. I have known LC for over 40 years.I spent the the night with him last year.We were both retired  from the the USAF.It broke his heart when Jewell passed away.We had a lot of conversations on the phone and he would talk all night if you let him.He could build anything and was the best electrican I ever saw.I moved from SC to FL in 1999.LC moved to Ocala,FL and I only lived about 20 miles away so we saw each other often.He was not happy in Florida and moved back to the little house on Hwy 11. I receive a Christmas card from him in Dec. I am so sorry I missed the grave side service. LC was a great American and a great friend. I am 88 and not in good health or I would have been there for his service.May God Bless L. C HONAKER. Bill Bradford

We just saw his obituary Sunday. If we had known we certainly would have been there. We loved LC. Ben had been trying to find him.  We were told he was in NC VA hospital. He came to our house often and he and Ben talked often and for hours at a time on the phone. Ben cried as I read the obituary to him. He had called Troy numerous times and left messages as to LC's whereabouts. Our hearts are broken. We knew he was getting sick. We are soooo sorry that we didn't know.
