Mr. Stewart was born on May 27, 1958, to the late Cecil and Doris Day Stewart. He was a faithful member of Flat Rock Baptist Church in Liberty, SC, where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Stewart loved studying his Bible, bee keeping, and was a master breeder of Bantam Chickens. He was a jack of all trades and always willing to help anyone in need. His favorite thing was to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, Mr. Stewart is survived by three children: Todd Stewart (Katie Lloyd), Megan Dillashaw (Derrick) and Craig Stewart (Hayley Zalkin); two grandchildren: Maebry Dillashaw and Charlie Stewart; and one brother Tony Stewart.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Flat Rock Baptist Church, located at 115 Slab Bridge Rd, Liberty, SC 29657.
A visitation will be held prior to the service in the church from 11:45 to 12:45 PM.
Sammy will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens, SC following the service.
The family would like to a make a special thanks to the Dr. Suzanne Fanning and the staff at the Cancer Institute along with the staff at AIC, for their help in Sammy's long fight with MDS.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donation be made to the Flat Rock Baptist Church Food Pantry, located at 115 Slab Bridge Rd, Liberty, SC 29657.
