Ms. Hagood, a native of Easley, South Carolina, was born May 17,1939, to the late Mauldin and Catherine Davis Owens. She enjoyed hiking, being outdoors, her Lakemont community and her family. Ms. Hagood, an animal lover, spent much of her life taking care of animals and often is remembered for taking her golden labrador, Oliver, in the back seat of her car everywhere she went. She loved to cook and was often found making lasagna or any other dish for her family. Her family was her life and she invested much of her time into their well being. She loved being "Gigi" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ms. Hagood was survived by her two sons: Hank Hagood of Englewood, FL and Jack Hagood of Six Mile, SC; two grandchildren: Rev. Jake Hagood (Leah) of Greer, SC and Hannah Hyde (Jon) of Charleston SC; three great grandchildren: Isaac, Kaleb, and Melody Hagood.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Southside Baptist Church located at 410 S. Main Street Greer, SC 29650. The Rev. Jake Hagood, her grandson, will be officiating the service along with the Rev. Jeremiah Oliver. The family will have receiving of friends following the service.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church in Greer SC, Greenville Humane Society, or Foothills Presbyterian Home.
The family is incredibly grateful to Foothills Presbyterian Home for their care of Ms. Hagood over the last two years, Interim Hospice for their care over over the last five months, and Dillard Funeral Home. Ms. Hagood's final resting place will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens, SC at a later date.
