

Kenneth Eugene Cooper, 83, of Hinton formerly of Pineville passed away at his residence on Thursday, September 10, 2015 following a long illness. Born August 29, 1932 at Skin Fork, he was the son of the late Joseph B. Cooper and Edna Mae Cook Cooper. Kenneth was president of W-P Coal Company; division manager at Island Creek Coal Company; a member of the Cooper Memorial Baptist Church; he was an ordained minister; served in the US Army and he loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Benny Ray Cooper and two brothers-in-law, Herman Shumate and Sherald Pendry. Survivors include his wife, Drema Crowder Cooper of Hinton 2 daughters, Kathy Cook and her husband, Ron of Pineville and Lisa Jones of Christiansburg, VA A step-son, Christopher Hopson of Hinton A brother, Billy Joe Cooper and his wife, Elsie of Skin Fork 2 sisters, Linda Pendry of Princeton and Sue Shumate of Wyoming Grandchildren: Charissa Cook and her husband, Greg; Angel Lane and her husband, Tim; Jeri Ann Miller and her husband, Scott A step-grandson, Trace Chafin 3 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dylan and Carlee The mother of his children, Carolyn Cooper of New Richmond 2 nephews and 3 nieces
