Barbara S. Dice

Barbara S. Dice, age 74 of Pittsburgh, PA, joined the Lord in heaven Friday April 15th, 2022. After spending a beautiful day with her husband in their beloved Hilton Head Island, she passed away peacefully while she rested at home.

She was born to Stanley and Elizabeth (Nee Pribish) Savage on January 25, 1948 in McKeesport, PA. She was their first child followed by Beverly and Richard. After graduating from Port-Vue Liberty high school, Barb attended Westmoreland School of Nursing during which time she met her husband, Larry Dice. They spent 54 years together building a loving and deep relationship while finding joy in each other’s idiosyncrasies.

They had a daughter Amanda, who they loved deeply and cherished. During their time together they made many lifelong friendships that are so precious to them. They had a shared love of tennis, skiing, traveling as well as their various canine family members over the years.

Barb was a registered nurse for 48 years and was known for her kind and caring nature. She worked at Allegheny General Hospital for 28 years in the ophthalmology department and in the Operating Room. After her retirement, she became a member of the ladies of charity at St. Sebastian’s Church and the turtle trackers in the Sea Pines beach community. She was known for her bubbly and fun-loving spirit by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Barb will be remembered for her storytelling, cooking, and ability to make friends and deep connections with anyone she crossed paths with.

Friends will be received on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the H. P. Brandt Funeral Home, Inc. 1032 Perry Hwy. Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parrish / St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, an organization Barb felt strongly about after beating breast cancer twice during her life.
