Carol was born in Tarentum, PA on April 22, 1930 to the late Oakley and Marie DeBay Moser. She came from a large family of four brothers and two sisters. She was married to the late Joseph E. Sargent for 54 years. Carol was a devoted mother to seven daughters, one son and her “watchdog” Ziggy. She had 20 grandchildren and numerous dogs, cats and turtles who all loved heading to grandma’s house for extra TLC and treats.
Carol had a great sense of humor and wit and had a flair for style and decorating. She loved to watch her family’s musical group, “The Sargent Sisters”, perform throughout the years. She also enjoyed reading books regarding her faith and conveyed this knowledge and love of God to her family and those she encountered.
She was a humble woman of admirable faith and charity and led by the teaching of Mother Teresa that “Like Jesus we belong to the world, living not for ourselves but for others. The joy of the Lord is our strength.” Through adversity and sorrow her faith never wavered. She was a good and faithful servant until the last moment of her life. She was a long time member of St Sebastian Parish in Ross Township.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Paula (Kevin) Dowdell, (Emily, Zachary and Allie), Karen (Richard) Bonfiglio, (Alex, Spencer, Nicholas, Annie and Joseph), Stephanie (Frank) DeLisi, ( Olivia, Augusta, Gabriella, Noah, Jonah and Isaiah), Maria (George) Shaheen, Carolyn (Rodney) Chiodo, (Isabella and Gracie), Beth (Jason) Marcieski, ( Ava and Max), Julie Sargent, (Thomas and Rosalie), brothers Larry and Marlin Moser and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Sargent, her son Joseph G. Sargent , her parents, Oakley and Marie Moser, brothers Oakley and Melvin Moser, and sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Adam and Norma McQuade.
