

She was preceded in death by her husband William F. Balmer, her parents, John and Anastasia Beenk, her siblings John, Theresa, Joan and Michael, son-in-law John B. Jones, and granddaughter Kelsey Balmer.
Catherine was born and grew up in New York City. She has great memories with her siblings of horseback riding, picnics and ice-skating in Central Park, sled riding in John Jay Park, and attending Yankees games. Catherine always loved playing sports of any kind but was especially fond of golf later in life.
Education was important to Catherine, so even though it wasn’t until later in her life that she had the opportunity to go to college, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the college of St. Catherine at the age of 51 while working a full time job.
After retirement, Catherine and Bill moved to the St. Petersburg, Florida area and were very active in their church. After Bill passed away in 2016, Catherine moved to Mt. Lebanon, PA to be near family and friends.
Catherine is survived by her daughter; Karen Jones, Son; Michael Parker, Step-Children; Brenda Balmer (Brad), Susan Pemble (Ron), Bill Balmer, Jr. (Mary). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Michael Jones (Alexandra), Elizabeth Jones, Kristi Yantes (Dan), Sean Parker, Shannon Parker, Luke Wiscons (Rosie), Ren Wiscons, Jordan Pemble (Shelby), Bethany Croce (Bryan), Grant Balmer and Logan Balmer. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Anona United Methodist Church, 13233 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.
