Donald Blough Sr.

Donald R. Blough, Sr. of McCandless Township, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 with his family by his side, at UPMC Passavant Hospital. Don was born on January 19, 1930 in Pittsburgh to the late, William Grant and Helene (Colclaser) Blough.

Don had retired from Bell Telephone Company after 36 years and he was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed playing golf, working in his garden, landscaping, making his wine and he loved helping his neighbors.

Don was in the US Army serving with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War.

Don will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his loving wife; Mildred (Kampmeier) Blough; his daughter, Tracey Blough of Ross Township, his son, Donald (Karen) Blough of Ambler, PA; two grandchildren, Eleanor and Max; three brothers, John (Patricia) Blough of Oakmont; Philip Blough of Warwick, RI; Lynn Blough of Penn Hills; three sisters, Patricia Dinda of Maple Heights,Ohio, Kathryn Wood of McCandless Township, Rosemary Kaus of Seville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Rev. William Blough, Daniel and Edward Blough; and his sister, Helene.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM till 11:30 AM at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh, PA 15237 with a funeral mass at St. Teresa of Avila / Mt. Carmel Parish 800 Avila Ct, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 at 12:00 PM and military honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to McCandless/Franklin Park EMS along with the Wounded Warrior Project.
