Hazel Marie Miller

On Saturday August 27, 2016, Hazel Marie Miller (Heck) born in Bullskin Twp., Fayette County, PA July 2, 1922. Hazel is predeceased by her husband Elzy, her parents and a grandson, Jeff Miller. She is survived by a daughter, Garnet (John) Ganzak; sons, William (Carolyn) Miller and Jerry (Colleen) Miller; grandchildren, Anthony (Amy) Ganzak, Pandora Howell, Ken (Donna) Leib, Jim (Corinne) Miller, Lisa (Bob) Derbis, Gerrie Lee (John) Smith, Dustin (Chrissy) Miller; fifteen great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, her bus trips, daily walks, swimming and her Bootsy. A successful housewife and paperhanger, she always had time for her family and friends. Hazel was beloved by all who met her, had an acerbic wit and cutting sense of humor and will certainly be missed. A long time cancer survivor who advocated against smoking. Hazel has been reunited with the love of her life Elzy. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-8pm in the Heard Funeral Home, Inc., 4047 Perrysville Ave, Observatory Hill, 412-931-0200, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hazel’s name may be made to Heartland Hospice, Riverview Presbyterian Church, Visiting Angels, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army and American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
