John H. Cummings

John H. Cummings age 90, of Pittsburgh Pa. passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022. He was the son of the late Michael and Thelma (Gearhart). He will be missed by his loving wife of 30 years Helen (Sullivan) Cummings.

John was predeceased by LaMonte Cummings, the mother of his loving children, John (Carol) Cummings and Colleen (late Erv) Frischemeier. John was not only skilled and lucky in golf but also lucky in finding Helen in the second chapter of his life. He will be missed by his stepchildren: Teresa (David) Valentine, Shirley (Gary) Titus, Thomas (Dana) Boothby and the late Robert Boothby.

John’s greatest achievement was his grandchildren; Ian (Christina) Cummings, Rachel (Christopher) Heslop, Nicole Frischemeier, Brian (Amanda) Boothby, Michael Valentine, Robert Valentine, Joey (Melissa) Valentine, Kristen Boothby, Michelle Boothby and 14 great grandchildren.

He will be missed by his caring sister Carole George who was always there for him.

John was a distinguished veteran of the armed forces serving in the United States Army. John retired from United Union of Roofers and Allied Workers #37 Pittsburgh and enjoyed 20 years of Florida Sunshine with his wife Helen.
