Margaret L. Vandermer of McCandless passed on March 30, 2026, at the age of 75. Margaret was married to David L. Vandermer for fifty-one years who survives. She is also survived by her daughter Jessica L. Thompson (Darren) of Loganville Georgia, her brother John E. Anderle of Greenville Pennsylvania, her sister Carolyn J. Astmann (Fredrick) of Cherry Hill New Jersey, Marilyn J. Rutledge (Allan) of Copley Ohio, and her sister Mary E. Suddoth (William) of Greenville Pennsylvania. Also survived by nine nephews, five nieces, and numerous wonderful friends.
Margaret was a graduate of Reynolds High School and Slippery Rock University, and was a Health and Physical Education teacher for thirty-two years in the Pine-Richland School District.
Peg will be missed by all who came to know her. She had a personality that would put a new acquaintance at ease while her smile would always elevate a friend's spirit regardless of the situation. She enjoyed her time spent with friends, especially the after work "seminars" at TGI Fridays and later, after they had all retired, the monthly birthday luncheons at various eateries in the region.
Her hobbies involved various forms of crafts, especially painting in the "one-stroke" style. She produced numerous beautiful paintings that she would gift to friends and family.
Above all, Peg enjoyed time with the families of her siblings. Her favorite time of all was the annual "Sisters Week" spent at Bethany Beach. She, her sisters, and nieces would enjoy a week of crafts, sunset cruises, leisurely strolls, and, of course, long sessions of pleasant conversation.
A private service will be held later this summer.
