Born August 12, 1943, as what was called a blue baby and small enough to fit into a shoe box, he came into this world fighting. He left this world the same. He was the son to the late Earl and Martha (Stumpf) Carpenter.
“Butch” was a tenacious child. He had determination, curiosity and a drive that kept everyone on their toes. His first marriage to Bonnie Miller produced the apples of his eyes and the thorns in his side; Kim "his Bum" (Joel) Emmett, his namesake, Walter C. “his Joe” (Lisa) Carpenter Jr. and Dana “his noodles” (Tony) Caffardo. He is survived by his loving wife Rosie Posie, his bonus daughters, Lori (Bill) Dreyer and Becky Silk Marszalek. Dear brother of Brother Earl “Skip” Carpenter of Mexia, Texas
Proud Pap Pap of Nathaniel (Sarah) Emmett, Kasey Emmett, Colton Carpenter, Memphis (Nicole) Carpenter, Presley (Josh) Carpenter. Pappy of Kaylin, Mouse, and Cody Smody Caffardo. Pop Pop of Tanner and Kady Dreyer. Great Grandpap of Connor, Sophia, Serenity and Saige Carpenter. Murphy and Kieran Emmett and Colby Layne Carpenter.
He’s survived by many nieces and nephews and a special cousin, who was like a brother from another mother, Michael (Sue) Blandino or Shallotte, NC.
Although a jack of all trades, Walt was a retired police officer of 29 years for the Borough of Ben Avon.
He was a man of few words; we always knew he was always up to something. He was a humble man, so he would not want much more said other than please make all of the moments today and tomorrow. Never an idle hand and always teaching, his support and guidance is unmeasurable.
.
We know he will spend his time now watching over all of us, scratching off lottery tickets, playing the machines, left right center and playing some practical jokes on everyone.
