Anita, our beloved mother, grandmother, & great grandmother passed away on January 12,2018.

Born on January 24, 1931, in West Newton, Indiana. Anita grew up on a farm and was the only girl in the family of 5 brothers. She and her brothers were very close and they all adored her.

She attended Brownsburg, Indiana High School and was secretary/treasurer of her class all four years. Her first job was at Allison Division of General Motors. In 1949 she married John “Johnny” Leins, a longtime family friend. They had a wonderful marriage of 60 years, before Johnny passed away in 2010. In her middle years Anita volunteered as a Pink Lady at Marshall Hospital, a nursing assistant, & teacher’s assistant. It was during these years that she also enjoyed being a part of the local ladies bowling league, a 4H leader and cub scout den mother. Anita enjoyed tea parties & gardening and something beautiful was always blooming in her yard; but the thing she enjoyed most was family.

Anita is survived by brother Dale Wilson and his wife Nedra; son, Doug Leins and wife Sylvia; daughters, Marcia Schledewitz, Kim Bowen and husband Brian; grandchildren, Mandy Leins Lowery and husband Ben, Wynter Aubin and husband Dave, Candyce Shelton and husband Andy, Chelsea Britton and husband Chris, Courtney Schledewitz, Bryce and Austin Bowen; and great-grandchildren Lily, Ava and Elise Aubin, Jack and Lucy Lowery, Ellen Shelton and Owen and Arabelle Britton.

We will greatly miss our loving Mom who was an inspiration and joy to all, she is forever in our hearts.

Services will be held Saturday, February 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel of the Pines Placerville, with celebration of life following at Best Western Placerville Inn Banquet Hall.
