Bettie Mae Leckemby

Bettie Mae Leckemby, 75, of Sutter Creek, CA, formerly of Placerville, CA passed away in Sacramento on Monday,September, 27, 2010. Bettie was born in Amarillo, TX on December 3, 1934 to Milton Pete Filmore Brown and Mettje Marie Middaugh. In her early years, Bettie was a car hop and it was there she met her husband, John “Jack” Leckemby. She enjoyed playing basketball and watching the Los Angeles Lakers. Mrs. Leckemby always enjoyed the water, whether it was swimming, fishing, or panning for gold. She also enjoyed astronomy, vegetable gardening and anything outdoors. Her favorite holiday was Halloween in which she would take recycled items and decorate her home differently each year. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Bettie is survived by her children; Buffy Flatt-Leckemby, Danny Leckemby , and Jackie Rosselli. One sister, Patricia Bertrand. 10 grandchildren; Dannie, Noel, Alissa, Nick, Savanna, Kyle, Sean, Shianne, Ben, and Logan. At her request, no services will be held.
