Catherine Ross Adams Roe

October 12, 1915 - September 24, 2012

Catherine Ross Adams Roe, 96, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at Carlton Plaza senior living facility in Sacramento, CA. Catherine grew up in Chicago and attended North Park College. For the past 20 years she was a resident of California, living in Diamond springs, Elk Grove and Carmichael. While at the Winding Commons Senior Community, she attended Cypress Avenue Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the church choir. She was involved in church choirs at many places she lived including Indianapolis and previously, Decatur, Illiopolis and Newman, Illinois. She worked in various retail establishments and was co-owner of the Adams Shop in the town of Newman, where she was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were her father Dr. Colin K. Ross, her mother Sarah Bedefiel Ross, her first husband, Roy Adams, her late husband John Roe and grandchild, Howard E. Taylor. Surviving her are her children David (Oralee) Adams and Marilyn Adams Taylor, who was her primary caregiver and John’s children, John (Dana) Roe, II and Susan Roe. Grandmother of Michael Adams, Sarah Taylor, Jeremy Roe and Heidi Roe Goracke and great grandmother of one.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29th, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville, CA.
