Gail Arlene Rauch passed away at home in Placerville on June 11, 2020 at the age of 76. Gail was born in San Mateo to Herbert and Marilyn Tretten. She was raised in Fall River Mills, Calif., where she graduated from Fall River High School. Gail worked for Kaiser Hospital in South San Francisco before setting off on an adventure that included a year in New Zealand and a three-month cruise back to California. She then worked as a graphic illustrator at Western Division Naval Command in San Bruno where she met George. They married in November 1970 and settled in San Mateo to raise their family. Gail was active in the Fiesta Gardens PTA, the Fiesta Gardens Homeowners Association and the San Mateo Youth Softball Association. Upon moving to Placerville to enjoy retirement, Gail pursued her love of art. She participated in Placerville’s Banners on Parade in 2008 and 2009. Gail has several pieces of art on display at the Cameron Park DaVita dialysis clinic where she received loving care for 15 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Marilyn Tretten, her brother David and her sister Diane. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, daughters Christy and Joanne, sister Janice, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who are like family — the Hoffmans, the Wongs and the Wilds.
A celebration of Gail’s life will be planned for a time when we can all gather together safely.
