Longtime Pollock Pines resident Garry Grant Dykstra was born April 15, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away April 28, 2018 in Sacramento. He was the Roller Skating Regional Champion in Figures for many years, as well as a competition skating judge and coach. After serving in the U.S. Army, Garry became a correctional officer at Folsom State Prison then served as a Deputy Sheriff for Sacramento County. Most recently he served on the Security Ministry at Pollock Pines Community Church. Garry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sally; daughter Stacie; son Dwayne; niece Roxann; and nephew Moses. A special thank you to the Ryno family who have been the best of friends since 1956, and to the Miller family and our church family for all of their love and support. A service to celebrate Garry’s life will be held on June 16, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Pollock Pines Community Church, 6361 Pony Express Trail, Pollock Pines, CA.
