

Jerry was born June 24, 1941 in Oakland, California, the only child of Harry and Eugenia (Ramos) Gimenez. At an early age, the family moved to Woodland, California where he lived until 2020, upon moving to Placerville to be closer to family members. Jerry attended Woodland schools until his graduation from Woodland High School. During his years in high school, Jerry was well known as a successful athlete playing and succeeding in both baseball and basketball. Following high school, he attended UC Berkely on a baseball scholarship, eventually transferring to UC Davis where he was a member of ROTC. Following his graduation from UCD, he served his Country as a Captain in the USAF. After completing his military service, Jerry returned home to farm in Yolo County with his father. Jerry was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 2020. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1299 and several other agricultural organizations.
He is survived by four children, Laura Taylor (Harold Twigg), Placerville, CA. Kirsten Alter, Scotts Valley, CA. Shawn Alter, Fort Mohave, AZ and Kevin Alter, Colorado Springs, CO. Also survived by nine grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Erin, Emma, Jordan, Courtney, Zachary, Hayden, and Ivy, two great grandchildren, Aunna and Samuel and adopted great grandson Cameron Giberson. He is also survived by his cousin Joseph Gimenez (Dawn), Woodland, CA. He was predeceased by his parents and cousin, Louis Gimenez.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, 9:30 AM at the Sacramento Valley National Veterans Cemetery in Dixon, California.
