Jim was a loving husband and father as well as a true friend to so many. Born to parents James Peter and Barbara Ruth Voelker, Jim is survived by his wife Lori, son Jimmy, daughter Angela, mother Barbara, sister Karen, brothers Peter & Paul as well as many nieces and nephews.
Before moving to the Placerville area, Jim grew up near San Francisco and attended Reardon High School where he played a great shortstop for the Reardon baseball team. Over time, Jim turned his talent for baseball into a love of softball and enjoyed playing with family and friends for many happy years.
Jim, a great listener, always had time for others and readily put his family and friends ahead of himself. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and truly playful side that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Above all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and proudly watching his children succeed in life.
Jim is loved by, and has touched, so many.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 23 at 4 p.m.,at the Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, CA 95667 . Family will be wearing baseball caps during the services and invite all in attendance to enjoy the spirit of Jim’s celebration in kind.
A reception will follow the services.
