

After volunteering for the US Army Jimmy trained for a year with the US Marines in Special Forces. He left his wife and 3 month old daughter in March '68 to serve his country in the Vietnam War as a Forwarding Observer.
While in Vietnam he received the Bronze Star for saving his entire platoon from being overrun by the enemy.
He returned home in March '69 and had two more daughters. He has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He has been married to Lois McDaniel for 48 years.
Jimmy is a true American Hero. He gave his all in 1968 and ultimately gave his life for his country. He is a proud American and had no regrets.
After leaving the Army he began work at The Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, California where he would continue his career in Civil Service until he retired and moved to Northern California. Jimmy and his wife Lois made a warm happy home for their family in Cameron Park, California.
Jimmy and Lois opened the Candy Strike a Salt Water Taffy and Candy Store in Placerville California. They enjoyed spending their retired years putting smiles on many local and traveling customers who came to know Jimmy and Lois as they returned each year as part of their family vacation traditions.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 48 years, three daughters and son-in-laws, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, one brother and a very loving, caring extended family.
