John Orr

John L. Orr was born in Turlock, CA and passed away in Placerville, CA which he had been a resident of since 1964. He was the youngest of three children born to Viola M. and John H. Orr. John grew up in Fair Oaks, CA, joined the U.S. Navy during WW2 and retired from Mather Air Force Base as a foreman of the sheet metal shop after 33 years. John and his wife moved to Coloma in 1970 where they developed Ponderosa Park and were members of the Coloma Lotus Volunteer Fire Department. They were avid Square Dancers, and John was everyone’s handy man!

John is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lois, his son John R. Orr (& wife, Mary) of Mountain Ranch, CA, 6 grandchildren; Elizabeth Orr Leonard of Sacramento, CA, Brian Orr of Aurora, CO, Adam Reid of Bauxite AR, Ben Reid of West Sacramento, CA, Paul Reid of Olivehurst, CA and Sarah Reid Olivehurst CA, and 8 great grandchildren located in Bauxite, AR, Aurora, CO, Carlsbad, NM, Sacramento, CA, West Sacramento, CA and Olivehurst, CA.
