Joseph Francis Pallatin, Jr. passed away at age 60 on December 2, 2011, in Orange County, California, following a brief battle with cancer. Joe had many loves but his first love was undeniably music. When little Joey was only three years old, he also fell in love with the attention he received from girls when he tried playing the guitar.
Joe deeply loved his family. He was married twice, first to Linda and then to Laura; both count him as a most treasured friend. But it was his children who truly held his heart. Loren, Rachel, Steven and David delighted, frustrated and filled his life with joy and hope. He was a dedicated father who put his children first and valued any time he could spend with them.
Joe is survived by his two sisters, Cheryl Harris and Jo-Ellen McChesney, who both reside in Corona del Mar, California. He also adored little Scooby-Do, who will now be treasured by his family. He had many friends and readily made new ones through music and the fellowship he was a part of for more than 30 years. He planned to return to school, where he wanted to study physics; he had a keen intellect and loved education. Joe’s was a life full of love, laughter and joy, as well as challenge. He wasn’t ready to move on, but he was confident in an afterlife that would put this one into perspective and be a wonderful new adventure.
Please join Joe’s family and friends for a celebration of his life to be held on Sunday, December 18, at Chapel of the Pines in Placerville, California, at 12:00 p.m. His band mates will be performing some of his favorite songs, so feel free to bring some finger foods to share and plan to celebrate his life! In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Joe Pallatin Memorial Fund, which will benefit his children, at El Dorado Savings Bank.
