Kathleen Ann Wilkes

July 26, 1920 - August 26, 2014

Kathleen Ann Wilkes passed away in Placerville on August 26, 2014 after bravely fighting a serious illness. She was the third of six daughters born to John and Mary Donnelly of Detroit, MI. Kathleen (Kay) was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, John (Jack) Richard Wilkes, and their infant daughter, Kathleen Ann. She is survived by her children: Joey (Brian) Dunbabin, Michael Richard Wilkes, Marne (Don) Mertens, and Gary (Christina) Wilkes. She leaves behind her beloved sisters Monica Cavanaugh and Aileen (Jerry) Kummer, and her devoted 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren…not to mention her numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was a career accountant and a former member of the Cold Springs Country Club. Kay and Jack retired to Placerville in 1980 where they loved to golf, play bridge, and entertain their family and friends. Kay's first love was her family, but she was an avid Giants and A’s fan!

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3111 Tierra de Dios Drive, El Dorado Hills, CA. A reception will immediately follow. Private inurnment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Placerville.
