Leonard James Albert was born on June 17, 1942 to George & Aileen (Boyle) Albert in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from George Washington High School in 1960. He worked in Lithography for 25 years before moving north to El Dorado County with his wife Carole and his beloved Great Danes. From the age of 14 he was passionate about cars, restoring his first as a teenager, a 1931 Model A, which made it onto the cover of Hot Rod Magazine. This love for cars was expressed in drag racing and restoring vintage cars, many that went fast, especially his Corvettes and Grand Nationals. He was a distributor for VP Racing Fuel and established his own auto repair business. He lived out the remainder of his life on the family ranch where he’d spent time as a boy.
Leonard is survived by his wife Carole Albert, daughter Cathleen Courtney Walsh (Brian), son Donald Ross, grandchildren Jamison (Lauren) Walsh, Nicholas Walsh, Sydney Ross, Andrew Ross, great grandchildren Elijah, Madeleine and Cecilia Walsh. His sister Donna Lawson (Fred), niece Mary Aileen, nephew Fred (Erinn), great nieces Kendall, Lily and Madelyn.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2pm at Chapel of the Pines Mortuary 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, CA. In Lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Bristol Hospice of Roseville, CA. Online condolences may be posted at www.chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.
