Lorna Mae Erickson

Lorna Mae Erickson, 93 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, August 19th, 2020 peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Lorna Mae was born July 8, 1927 in Mekinock, North Dakota to the late Lawrence and Anna Quanrud, She was the one of six children, a sister to Harriet Dickson (deceased), Thomas Quanrud (deceased), Aldora Angelo (deceased), Morris Quanrud, and Susie Thorson.

Lorna Mae married the late Lowell E. Erickson in 1949, and soon thereafter adopted their daughter, Jody Marie. In her professional life, Lorna was a home health care nurse- taking care of those in need and supporting families through the most difficult of times.

Lorna loved to cook, listen to Lowell sing and play music, dance, laugh, smile, pull pranks and spend time with family. She loved to gossip for hours on the phone with her sisters in Norwegian, so the rest of us couldn’t understand what they were saying. She loved to watch and support her granddaughters succeed in their various animal related hobbies. Lorna loved to cook, you could always find her in the kitchen making apricot pie saying “Uffda” or whipping up lefse for everyone around the holiday season. You could also find her sneaking treats to her furry friend “Foxy” or often sneaking ice cream out of the freezer. She was a loving and caring person, devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her, was to love her.”

Lorna leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Jody Marie ; son in law, Randy Ruble; 2 granddaughters, Melissa and Madelyn, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and fur babies.
