Shirley Ann MacDonald was born January 30, 1936 in Hazel Park, Michigan and passed away in Placerville after a short illness on June 6, 2010. Wife of the late Edward H. MacDonald (1985); loving mother of Lawrence E. MacDonald, Robert M. MacDonald, Dawn T. Shumate, Steven D. MacDonald, Scott R. MacDonald and Deanna L. Jacona; Sister of the Late Robert Yalch and Sally C. Hartman of Florida; devoted grandmother of 16, great grandmother of 9 and aunt of 2.
Shirley graduated with 2 degrees, 1 in Applied Business and 1 in Accounting in 1995 at age 59. She worked as a bookkeeper for 30 years and was a member of the B.P.O.E. and AA. Shirley became a Born Again Christian with Assembly of God Church. Shirley also was a professional seamstress along with her mother Lillian and sister Sally. Their Sewing names were Ah-Sew/ Me Sew/ She-Sew. Shirley was a very outgoing woman who just loved people and made many friends in just her short time in California.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville, CA. Inurnment will be private. Contributions are preferred to Snowline Hospice, Snowline Hospice of El Dorado County, 6520 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, Ca 95619
