Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She truly embodied the spirit of an angel on earth.
Born to Adrian Earl and Lucie Irene Forstrom in Superior, Wisconsin, on January 3, 1933, Audrey was blessed with a loving family that she cherished throughout her life. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Doyle Burton Williams, who is 92; their two sons, Doyle Bradley (wife, Lisa Gudbjartsson) Williams and John Matthew (wife, Karen Peckham) Williams; five grandchildren, Lovisa Williams Scott, Georgia Williams Samford, Brooks Williams, Jon-Mark Williams, and Lauren Williams Friesenhahn; and 16 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Ean, Brayden, Mackenzie, Macie, Averie, Brooklyn, Lexi, Tatum, Kennedy, Lawson, Gracen, Paxton, Colton, Owen, and Ethan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Forstrom Branch.
Audrey's early life was marked by accomplishments and adventures. She was crowned Homecoming Queen at Central High School and, after graduation, moved to Dallas, Texas, to work for Delta Airlines at Love Field. It was there that she met the love of her life, Doyle. They married on August 30, 1952, and shared 72 years of marriage, building a beautiful life together.
A devoted homemaker and mother, Audrey was the epitome of grace and care. Known for her impeccable style, she was often compared to June Cleaver from Leave It to Beaver—always up early, elegantly dressed, and ready to care for her family. Audrey ensured that no one in her household ever missed a full breakfast or a meal. Her love of baking, especially during the Christmas season, was legendary, and she eagerly embraced every aspect of the holiday—decorating, baking, and singing with joy as she celebrated the birth of Jesus.
After her children, Matt and Brad, were grown, Audrey pursued a career in dentistry as a dental assistant. Later, she worked for the City of Plano, Texas Libraries for many years until her retirement. She treasured the friendships she made during her working years and remained close to many of her colleagues.
In retirement, Audrey and Doyle enjoyed traveling in their RV, exploring the U.S. and making memories together. One of Audrey's fondest pastimes was sitting in their RV in the driveway, reminiscing over a glass of wine about the adventures they had shared. Family gatherings at their home for holidays and special events were a source of great joy for Audrey.
As they moved into assisted living, Audrey quickly became a beloved member of the community, greeting residents and staff with her warm smile and kindness. Her spirit and love for those around her will forever be remembered.
Audrey's life was a testament to love, devotion, and grace. She touched the lives of everyone she met, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
**A Special Tribute**
My Gram baked sugar cookies, thin as air, In a Christmas tin, with love to spare. Each bite was sweet, her hands so light, Her smile would make the world feel bright.
She loved her grandkids more than all, Her touch was gentle, always there when we'd fall. With Papaw by her side, their love so true, Together, they'd make every Christmas new.
She took care of us, both near and far, Her heart a light, like a guiding star. A love so constant, warm and deep, In her embrace, we'd always keep.
—Lauren Williams Friesenhahn, Granddaughter
Gram wasn’t just our grandmother, she was home. Her house was a feeling, a place where love was baked into every cookie, poured into every cup of apple juice, and wrapped around us in the smell of hazelnut coffee. She made the ordinary extraordinary and taught us how to love in the smallest details.
Her breakfasts, her cookies, her laughter, they weren’t just traditions, they were the glue that bound our family. She loved us unconditionally, celebrated our triumphs, and made us feel like we could do no wrong. Even now, her presence remains in the memories and traditions she left us.
Thank you, Gram, for making our lives sweeter, fuller, and brighter. We’ll carry your legacy forward in everything we do.
—Brooks Williams, Grandson
