Betty was born on November 30, 1929 in Cramerton, North Carolina, a daughter of Samuel T. and Annie (Scates) Gardner.
She married George Austin Painter Sr.
He preceded her in death on October 13, 2009.
A private graveside service has been held at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery where Betty was laid to rest with her husband George.
Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano, Texas has charge of arrangements.
