

Bridget E. Elliott, of Prosper, Texas, went to her home in heaven Wednesday afternoon, November 3, 2011, in Plano, Texas. She had been battling bravely a war with cancer since 2004. Her Savior, JESUS, decided that she had braved the battle long enough and she slipped into her eternal home in heaven as if falling asleep.
Born Bridget Elly Kerssemakers , in Chicago, IL in 1951, she was the daughter of William A. Kerssemakers and Margret E. Harkness. She graduated from Central Catholic HS and was in the Lafayette parochial school system since moving from Chicago to Lafayette when she was small.
She was part owner of Weast Music Company with her husband, Kirk O. Elliott, and after selling that business to their partners, she was an investment banker with Huntington National Bank for over 10 years before retiring in 2009.
Surviving her are her loving husband of 42 years, Kirk; one son, Jason A. Elliott of Prosper, TX and his wife Krissi; two grandchildren that were the light of her life: grandson, Gage Isaac Elliott and granddaughter, Emme Grace Elliott.
Also surviving are one sister, Margaret Switzer and her husband, Mike Switzer of Coral Springs, FL; one brother, Mark Kerssemakers of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Louise Kerssemakers of West Lafayette, IN; four nephews, Kristopher Switzer and his wife, Jody, of Coral Springs, FL, Brandon Switzer of Tuscaloosa, AL, Kyle Kerssemakers of Dallas, TX and Scott Kerssemakers of West Lafayette, IN; stepfather, Jack Harkness and his wife, Rose, of Gray, TN; as well as a great niece and great nephews.
Bridget was preceded in death by her father, mother and one brother, Jeff Kerssemakers.
