

Daniel V. Tyler, age 65, of Lucas, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 18, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Stephen and Carol (Bemenderfer) Tyler. Dan is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colorado, and always loved the Rocky Mountains. He had a wonderful career with Johnson Controls, Inc. as a Customer Business Manager and worked with several Dallas area businesses. Dan was a wonderful family man always expressing love for his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Gloria Tyler of Lucas, Texas, daughters, Julie (Mike) Tarrence of Little Elm, Texas, Tamara (James) Schott of Glen Rose, Texas, and sister, Pat Tyler of Dallas, Texas. Dan also leaves behind his four beautiful grandchildren, Tyler and Haley Tarrence and Brennen and Colin Schott.
Dan’s favorite hobby was wood working. He was a master craftsman who enjoyed creating beautiful pieces that he generously shared with family and friends. He had an incredible sense of humor and was always making those around him laugh. His smile was infectious and everyone that met him loved him. Dan will be truly missed and loved.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Alice Tyler and father, Stephen.
Funeral mass and interment at the St. Jude Columbarium will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Avenue in Allen, Texas.
A reception will follow immediately after the services in the Parish hall.
