Dennis Charles Long

Denny was born on February 18, 1954, in Plano, and he remained a proud resident of the city throughout his life. A graduate of Plano High School, class of 1972, he was an excellent athlete and enjoyed success in all sports as a proud Wildcat.

As an avid sportsman, Denny’s passions extended far beyond the high school field. He was an enthusiastic hunter, fisherman, and an ardent lover of bird dogs, sharing countless cherished memories in the great outdoors. Denny also had a deep appreciation for golf, a passion he pursued with joy and enthusiasm, especially during the annual Crume Wide Open Tournament at Holly Lake Ranch, where he formed lasting friendships and shared laughter for many years.

Denny was known for his warmth, generosity, and sense of humor, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Cheryl; his mother, Georgia; and his two brothers, Steve and Jeff. His family and friends will forever treasure the many happy moments spent with him, from the hunting grounds to the golf course.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Heritage Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 4:00 PM. All family and friends are invited to join in honoring Denny’s life and the impact he made on those around him.
