

Dorothy was born on April 10, 1935 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Michael Justin Massey and Ethel Marie Lindo.
She married C.W. Schimelpfenig on April 28, 1956 in Geneva, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2008.
Surviving are Dorothy’s children: Michael (Sharla) Schimelpfenig of Carrollton, Texas, Gretchen Schimelpfenig of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Laurel (Ray) Bandi of Thornton, New Hampshire.
Also suriving are her grandchildren: Natalie & Max Schimelpfenig, and Jonthan, Rachel, Jenny & Abby Bandi.
Dorothy was an avid gardener, quilter, seamstress, chef, and reader. She took advantage of every opportunity to appreciate the splendor of God’s creation. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth and served as a greeter, a Bible Study leader for her circle, as well as a contributor to the prayer shawl ministry. She was a wonderful mother to her three children. She was also a good friend to many in the Fort Worth-Arlington area. She worked for many years as the administrative secretary for the School of Dental Hygiene at Tarrant County Junior College.
As one of Dorothy’s grandchildren said:
“Praise God for Grammy’s life, and that she is now resting by His side. Well done, Grammy.”
The Funeral Service for Dorothy Schimelpfenig will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074. Burial will follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
